This is going to be filed under the “No Shit Sherlock,” category, but I think it’s still worth talking about this little story. We (conservatives) have been saying it for years. The best person to point out bias is always the guy that’s on the shit end of the stick. That’s why liberals are so good at pointing out the bias in Fox News.
Well this guy, Ben Shapiro, scored some interviews with
Hollywood executives in which he got them to verbally admit that they have a liberal agenda that they’re trying to push onto . Not only that, but one of the executives he interviewed admitted that politics are absolutely a barrier to entry into the industry. America
Call me crazy or stupid, but somehow that seems completely counterproductive to what the Liberals claim their agenda is. Of course, they think that their agenda is to make
“truly free.” They want to make sure that even the most disenfranchised and vulnerable citizens have access to the same rights and privileges due to any other American citizen. America
What they don’t realize is that their methodology is ridiculously flawed and completely undermines everything they’re trying to do.
As I have posited before, freedom to them means that everyone has to think like them. So when you think about it, the American television audience has, for years, been bombarded by an agenda that is blatantly and unapologetically liberal.
Now I’m all about freedom of speech. If I wasn’t then I’d be a Democrat. But what they’re doing is completely contrary to that whole line of thought. It would be one thing if they were liberal simply because it got the best ratings (which would be a scary thought for me), but the fact that they actually bar people from
who are “too conservative,” is what makes the whole damn thing an immoral sham. Hollywood
Yes, I said it. Immoral. Not that the agenda itself is immoral, and not that even having an agenda is immoral. Everyone in this country is entitled to a voice and the opportunity to spread his or her message. To stifle the voice of your opposition, however, is wholly contrary to what we know to be American values.
|Stifling opinions in the media? That|
sounds an awful lot like . . .
And it’s not just an “American,” value: I would argue that it’s a universal value that ideas should not be silenced simply because it’s detrimental to one’s particular agenda. What does that say about the liberal agenda if they feel the need to quell any voice of opposition? To me it says that they’re not secure in the veracity of their cause.
Sure, they might say they believe in it, but they’ve only got one of two options to pick from. They either (A) Are afraid that they might be wrong and Americans won’t buy their bullshit, or (B) Think the American people are too stupid to choose their beliefs for themselves. I’m pretty sure the opinion of
is scenario B. Hollywood
I don’t expect hyper-partisan idiots to understand a concept as complex as “liberty.” Contrary to popular belief, liberty does not mean you have to will someone to believe exactly as you do. To love liberty you actually have to love diversity. For us to be a nation of free individuals, we have to agree that idiots are allowed to be idiots.
That doesn’t mean we abandon them, or that it’s wrong to engage them in persuasive discourse, but it does mean that if they reject our opinions, even if they reject reality, we have to let them. They’re allowed to believe whatever the hell it is they want to believe. We can continue to engage them, but what we can’t do is cut off all other forms of opinion.
Liberals might think the world will be a better place when everyone finally “wakes up” and is somehow unable to think beyond the Liberal agenda, but I think that’s a scary world. For now, I suppose we can all rest easy that
Hollywood writers and execs have admitted, on camera, that they are lackeys for the liberal agenda.
1 point is awarded to Freedom of Thought.
