You hit the nail on the head when it comes to just how incredibly narrow the GOP has become.

When I was not much younger, I often voted for GOP candidates at the local level. Now, even at the local level, these folks are running on national issues with almost no regard to local issues, save for whatever breaks they have to offer certain local business interests. We're seeing local city councils, county commissioners, mayors, judges, and school board candidates running on abortion and opposition to "Obamacare." WHO THE HELL CARES??? I want to know what the dispersal of my property taxes will be, what we're doing about roads and zoning, etc. I don't give a rats ass what some local commissioner thinks about fucking abortion.

The GOP has just gone insane. I can hardly ever find one to vote for anymore.
